A Right Royal Street Party!!

So here it is at last, my newest & most challenging painting ever, A Right Royal Street Party, featuring many of Britain's senior Royals at their very own Diamond Jubilee bash at Buckingham Palace.
Queen Elizabeth is seated in a comfy chair at the head of the table, G&T to hand, watching horse-racing on TV. Her butler is phoning through her bets.
DOE is shooting. He has a First Aid kit in his hunting jacket, a reference to recent ill-health & hospital admissions.
The younger Royals are dancing in a conga line, Harry leading with cymbals, William & Kate following, with Beatrice & Eugenie behind in their well-known headgear.
As for the rest, well, enlarge the image & see who you can spot!
Summer 2012 is a special, very British, occasion and I wanted to create something out of the ordinary to celebrate all that's happening.
I hope you feel I've pulled it off!

Except for a few changes the new painting is finished!

My agent says if I want to be a new Giles (had to look up that reference!) the characters must be recognisable, and, well, a few of them aren't, quite, yet.

Giles was a master and I want to get the thing right, so here's another little teaser for you meantime :)

Keep Calm & Carry On!

My agent, who's always going on at me to do more and work harder, probably does more than me even though she's disabled!

Max and I drove her to see her consultant this week and whenever we do something for her she always gives us something to say thanks.

Not that she needs to. 

So with a massive stroke of luck, the week my old umbrella gave up the ghost I was presented with this zingy new one!

Not only is it Jubilee themed, with the umbrella right down over my head I can see through the clear plastic panels AND keep my hair dry.

So both stylish and practical!

I should be working on my SECRET painting but with the Olympics, Wimbledon and other sporting events around the corner, it was about time I got around to filing my sporting photos of the past few years.

This corporate pic of tennis players Pat Cash, Ilie Nastase and others was taken a couple of years ago for Lumbers, for whom I later painted their Leicester shop.

A Charitable Medley of Chart-Toppers

The UpBeatles got the crowd dancing at Rothley for MND, 27 April.

You're going to think I go out a lot. And when I'm not working to a deadline I suppose I do!

On Friday my step-dad John put on a charity concert at Rothley village hall to raise funds for the Leicestershire & Rutland branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

It was a fun affair too, as you can see, featuring local band-alike, The UpBeatles, who played a 'medley of 60s chart-toppers', or so I was told. Plus James Aaron King, Elvis tribute act. People talked and danced differently then man. Oh yeah! (Loved the wigs!)
