A Change in Direction, 10 Jan 2020

The human element has always featured heavily in my work, so it seems a very natural progression to move from painting ‘landscapes with feeling’ depicting figures within a landscape, to individual portraits of heroes, admirations and inspirations.  People I love and admire particularly from my long-standing interest in music and popular culture, the pretty and the beautiful, alive and dead.  I’m interested in capturing the feeling of beauty and the feeling of presence in a pared-down style.  The character and psyche without all the unnecessary details.

A Marvellous Moment! Saturday 5th October 2019

Keir Coxhead Exhibition at Marvellous Art Gallery, Sat 27 July 2019

Titled ADAPT, this exhibition is a collection of Coxhead’s work after moving forward and adapting following a serious spinal injury, which left him almost completely paralysed with minimal arm function.  For more info see:

A new opportunity at 'Marvellous Art Gallery' July 2019

New gallery opens in Leicester's Belvoir Street, the 'Marvellous Art Gallery' which will now be showcasing my work!  Owner Marvin Daika wants to bring exhibitions and events to the gallery.  He is currently showing the work of famous artist Paul Wright with a large oil painting of the late LCFC chairman, Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in the window and his son Aiyawatt which hangs inside.  Marvin wanted to open his own gallery, but thought it would be impossible.  "I used to run a shipping company but got tired of it," he says.
